Is God's Salvation Unconditional?
Many people today seem to think that you can work your way to Heaven, but does the Scripture actually teach this? I think that any thorough reading of the Bible (think Eph 2:8) makes it clear that it is impossible for one to earn their salvation through their own merits. This Biblical truth, however, is often misunderstood to the point where some believe that one’s entrance into Heaven is both arbitrary and altogether independent of one’s own doing. This false doctrine is often part of a larger, fallacious theological framework, and such theologians will cite passages such as Romans 9:16 to demonstrate that any person’s salvation is entirely without condition.
