Examining Ourselves in the Lord's Supper (1 Corinthians 11)
I’ve heard a lot of people talk about the Lord’s Supper and the thing that they say is we need to examine ourselves. This comes from 1 Corinthians 11, but before seeing what Paul says there, think about when you usually take the Lord’s supper. Think about when you remember the sacrifice of Jesus and examine yourself.
What do you usually think about when you “examine” yourself? Do you think about your sin because that’s why Jesus died on the cross? Do you think about what you’ve done since becoming a Christian and how you still sin? Do you think about what you could be doing better? Maybe in your introspection this causes you to feel guilt…
